ミニマル音楽の巨匠フィリップ・グラスと鬼才演出家ロバート・ウィルソンが、科学者アインシュタインを詩的に解釈しようと試みた前衛的なオペラ「浜辺のアインシュタイン」は、1976年の初演で観客の度肝を抜き、オペラの概念を変えた傑作！

本作はフィリップ・グラスとロバート・ウィルソンの共同制作で1976年に発表されたコンテンポラリー・オペラ。動作、美術、言葉、音楽というオペラにおける4つの要素の組み合わせを大胆に再構築することで総合芸術としてのオペラの概念を塗り替え、後の「パフォーマンス」ブームの先鞭をつけた記念碑的大作！
